HBO CNY Red Packet Sets

Overview

Between 2014 and 2016, I embarked on a creative journey to craft a distinct and memorable collection of Red Packets (known as Ang Pao or Hong Bao) that would encapsulate the essence of Lunar New Year celebrations. Red Packets hold a significant place in this cultural tradition, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity. My mission was to design patterns that would resonate with the festive blessings and mirror the holiday's joyful spirit.

In this modern contemporary style, I fuse elements of oriental and art deco illustrations. The oriental influence brings a sense of cultural richness and depth to the design, while the art deco aspects infuse a touch of timeless elegance and sophistication. The use of vibrant colors adds an exciting and dynamic visual element to the overall aesthetic. These bold hues not only catch the viewer's eye but also convey energy and enthusiasm, making the design stand out and evoke strong emotions.

To further elevate the design, gold hot-stamp effects was incorporated. The glistening gold accents bring a sense of luxury and opulence, creating a captivating contrast with the vibrant colors. This combination of richness and vibrancy creates a striking and memorable visual experience. Overall, this design approach blends tradition and modernity, creating a visually captivating and culturally rich style that appeals to contemporary sensibilities while paying homage to artistic and cultural influences from the past.
